Decorah native Rob Sand elected State Auditor

The next State Auditor in Iowa will be a Decorah native.

Democrat Rob Sand won election to the office Tuesday night, ousting incumbent Republican Mary Mosiman.  Sand received 51 percent of the vote to Mosiman's 47 percent, with Libertarian Fred Perryman receiving 3 percent of the vote.

Sand will be sworn into office on January 1st.  He had been working as an Assistant State Attorney for State Attorney General Tom Miller.
