The Decorah City Council Monday night voted 6-1 to approve hiring McClure Engineering for $71,374 to work on a design concept and other documents involving sidewalk improvements in the Bruening Addition. City council member Andy Carlson was the lone "no" vote.
City officials expect the project will be in the $500,000 price range, with the costs of construction assessed to property owners in the Bruening Addition.
The agreement with McClure Engineering calls for a series of council meetings, city staff meetings and public input meetings on the project. The sidewalk work will be done in 2019.
