Decorah sets another rainfall record

Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz has just finished reviewing records about consecutive days with measurable precipitation for Decorah and--you guessed it!--we have just set another all-time record.

Bernatz says the 11-day stretch September 30th through October 10th had recorded rainfall amounts each and every day.  That makes those 11 days the longest in the 125-year data records for Decorah.

Bernatz found one 10-day stretch, five 9-day stretches, 13 8-day stretches, 29 7-day stretches and 43 5-day stretches, but never an 11-day stretch during the past 125 years in Decorah--until now.
