Over 4,000 absentee ballots have already been cast in Winneshiek County

Absentee balloting in Winneshiek County for the November 6th election continues to be heavy.

The latest figures from the Iowa Secretary of State Office shows over 4,000 absentee ballots have been cast.  4,813 absentee ballots have been sent out, with 4,071 returned.

Of the ballots already cast, 1,771 have been by registered Democrats, 1357 by registered Republicans and 943 by either those with no party affiliation or with a minor party affiliation.

Absentee ballots need to be postmarked by midnight Monday, November 5th, in order to be a valid ballot.
