Two accidents in two days on 220th Avenue in Winneshiek County

On Wednesday afternoon around 3:00, 18-year-old Tucker Renoux of Washington, Iowa was heading southbound on 220th Avenue while 47-year-old Doug Bullerman of Calmar was heading northbound.  There was low visibility due to gravel dust in the air and both vehicles sideswiped each other.  No ambulance transports were needed and no citations were issued.  The accident caused around $20,000 in damages.

On Thursday afternoon around 2:00 p.m., 19-year-old Conner Hemesath of Ossian was driving a 2013 Freightliner Semi on 220th Avenue and got too close to the east shoulder. The shoulder was soft and gave away, causing the semi and trailer to tip onto its side in the east ditch. No ambulance transport was needed and no citations were issued.  The accident caused around $40,000 in damages.
