A pop-up shop--Rendered Unique--pops up in Decorah

Decorah's latest pop-up store is the work of Amanda Huinker and Jamie Gavle, who became friends eight years ago when they moved into the same neighborhood in Decorah.

"Over the years, we've enjoyed helping each other decorate and update our homes. We've visited many pop-up shops, vintage markets, and brick and mortar stores that focus on refurbished furniture and unique decor and goods. We have a similar love for the reimagined, vintage, and repurposed. We have even dabbled in a bit of rehabbing ourselves and you can often find one of us painting a room in one of our homes or a cool piece of vintage furniture that we feel would be the perfect fit to complete a space," the two friends say.

Inspired and mentored by a close friend who currently has her own business and pop-up shop in Minnesota, the two started imagining what a pop-up, home decor event could look like here in Decorah. "We have enjoyed the process of setting up this pop up shop and felt it is something Decorah needs...We find so much inspiration from women entrepreneurs who are out there living their creative dreams, and we LOVE the idea of supporting and encouraging their business venture. We dared to think--what if WE could do this?"

The pop-up store will open at 309 East Water Street (formerly Gracie's Boutique) from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

Rendered Unique showcases vendors from Iowa and Minnesota with all kinds of furniture, home decor, gifts, jewelry, and art displayed throughout the store. Rendered Unique has brought all of their favorite local makers into one location for customers looking for one-of-a-kind pieces and design inspiration.
