Letter to the Editor: County Supervisor candidate Melissa O'Rourke has a commitment to public service

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Georgie Klevar of Decorah):

"Melissa O'Rourke will be an asset to the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors, which is why I am supporting her.  Melissa has an educational background and a broad range of experiences that will benefit the discussions and decisions of the county board as the members deal with the future of Winneshiek County.

She has a life-time interest in agriculture and has an undergraduate minor in agriculture.  She and her husband breed, manage, and show Toggenburg dairy goats. Currently as an ISU Extension attorney, she works with farmers on their legal issues. So she is familiar with the many difficulties faced by today's farmers. She also understands the needs of small towns in rural areas such as those in our county.

Melissa has a commitment to public service and has served as a volunteer for various non-profit agencies. She taught church and community education classes in Northwest Iowa when she lived there and now has done the same in Winneshiek County.

If you live in Supervisor District two, I urge you to vote for Melissa O'Rourke."
