Letter to the Editor to support Connie Askelson Kuennen for County Recorder

I am writing to the voting citizens of Winneshiek County as a personal recommendation of Connie Askelson Kuennen, who is running for the position of Winneshiek County Recorder in the upcoming November 6th election.

I have had the opportunity to work with Connie for more than 15 years as a customer service representative during her tenure at Camcar Textron/Stanley Black and Decker.  The company I worked for in a senior leadership position during this period was a master distributor for the Camcar Textron/Acument/Stanley Black and Decorah product line, meaning that we purchased the products manufactured in the Decorah plant and sold them to manufacturers located in Oklahoma.

As the customer service representative, Connie was our main contact point for the products we purchased from the Decorah plant.  Our interactions with her, often on a daily basis, included part engineering design and development assistance, quotations, order entry, order management, expediting, shipping logistics and quality support.  All of these functions require a great deal of attention to details, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, often times under difficult circumstances and time constraints, all the while maintaining a cool, calm demeanor with the focus on meeting the needs of the customer.  Connie simply excelled in all of these areas of her core job responsibilities from ours, the customer, point of view.

I do not know for sure, but would expect, that the position of Winneshiek County Recorder would require many of the same job skills and capabilities described above in the day-to-day functions of the position, along with interacting with customers—the citizens of Winneshiek County.  Over the 15-year period we worked together, Connie was an extremely reliable person, a true professional who helped our organization excel in our marketplace.  Connie is the type of person you would want on the Winneshiek County team any day and most certainly would have my vote if I lived in your county.
