The Decorah Police Department reports a traffic stop Saturday shortly before midnight led to 2 citations for 54-year-old Jeffrey Snyder of Cresco.

Prior to the traffic stop on 5th Avenue, Snyder was driving west on Main Street when he struck the rear driver's side of a vehicle that was legally parked on the north side of Main Street. After striking the vehicle, Snyder continued west on West Main Street, turned north onto River Street, and finally turned west into an alleyway between Main Street and Water Street. At this time, Snyder stopped and exited his vehicle. He removed some damaged parts from his vehicle before leaving the area.

The collision caused $6,000 of disabling damage to the legally parked 2010 Dodge Avenger, and $10,000 of damage to Snyder's 2014 Chrysler 3000. Snyder was charged with Striking an Unattended Vehicle and Using an Electronic Communication Device.
