They showed up to serve jail time--but deputies say they were intoxicated

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says two different people showed up drunk at the Winneshiek County Jail over the weekend.
36-year-old Tauren Gess of Decorah was charged with 2nd offense Public Intoxication for allegedly being drunk around 10:30 p.m. Friday when reporting to the Winneshiek County Jail to serve time. Gess was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.
The next morning, around 8:00 a.m., 58-year-old Alan Kovarik of Spillville also allegedly reported to the Winneshiek County Jail intoxicated to serve time. Kovarik was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for public intoxication.
Also over the weekend, 35-year-old Kyle Falck of Decorah was stopped at Highway 52 and College, was arrested for Operating While under the Influence and was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail. Also, 28-year-old Alexander Blaess of Cresco was served a warrant for violation of probation, arrested in Howard County and brought to the Winneshiek County Jail.
