Mr. Answer Person says: "There are two seats to be filled in the November 6th voting.  The two people currently holding those seats--Steve Hildebrandt and Karl Jacobsen--are running for re-election.  A third spot on the hospital board--previously held by Judy Robinson--is now vacant because she has submitted her resignation.

Most vacancies on elected boards and commissions are filled with a temporary appointment "until the next regular election."  That's what led to the "vote for up to three" language on the ballot.  However, hospital board vacancies are filled by appointment for the remainder of the original term.
