A judge has scheduled the murder trial of 34-year-old Brian Fullhart of Cresco for next May.
Fullhart, a Decorah native, faces two charges filed in connection with the death of his wife, 34-year-old Zoanne Fullhart of Decorah--one count of First Degree Murder and with one count of Going Armed With Intent to Harm. He is being held in the Winneshiek County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Fullhart's trial had been scheduled for next month, but a judge postponed that trial Monday during a pretrial conference.
Officers had responded March 1st to a 9-1-1 call which reported a shooting at 700 South Elm Street #32 in Cresco. Upon arrival, officers were confronted by Fullhart, who allegedly threatened to shoot officers. Fullhart was eventually taken into custody. Officers then entered the residence and located the body of a woman who was later identified as Fullhart's wife, 34-year-old Zoanne Fullhart of Decorah.
