What salary should the Decorah School Board offer to the next Decorah School Superintendent?
The Decorah Community School district has a certified enrollment of 1,349.3 students. A survey of 20 other Iowa school districts with roughly the same enrollment will be used by Decorah School Board members as a guide to how much of a total salary should be offered to the district's next superintendent.
The school board's consulting firm has just finished such a survey, which ranges from school districts with around 1,250 students to those with around 1,425 students. The average superintendent's salary in those school districts is $151,000. The salaries range from a low of $134,900 a year to a high of $177,142 a year. The highest salary is the one Decorah pays.
So not only has the Decorah Community School District been ranked as among the best in Iowa for several years in a row, but the salary package will be attractive to people looking into the Decorah School Superintendent opening.
