The Decorah Police Department reports two vehicles were involved in a collision with a deer.
On Friday at approximately 8:30 p.m., Decorah officers responded to a car vs. deer accident on Locust Road. While responding to the accident, officers activated their overhead lights upon approach. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Paige Pennigroth of Urbandale was approaching from the opposite direction and was unable to see the deer lying in the roadway. She struck the deer and her 2016 Hyundai Accent sustained an estimated $4,000 of damage as a result. The vehicle that originally struck the deer suffered little damage. No injuries were reported.
