Waterloo man ticketed following county accident

Sheriff's deputies responded to a traffic accident shortly before 9:00 Monday morning on Highway 52 and County Road A18 in Burr Oak   Township.

The Sheriff's Office says 62-year-old Phusley Fletcher of Waterloo was traveling south on Highway 52 while following too closely to a semi and trailer making a right hand turn. 

Fletcher tried to slow down by pulling over to the shoulder and braking, but he could not slow down enough and entered the ditch.  There was no damage to the semi and trailer.  No ambulance transport was needed.

Fletcher was ticketed for failure to maintain control and following too close.
