American History Essay Contest open to Decorah 5th - 8th grade students

The Decorah Chapter of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) is again sponsoring an American History Essay Contest this school year, open to Decorah students in grades 5 through 8.

This year's topic is the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted all American women the right to vote and hold elective office.

Essays can be submitted to Sarah Nowack at sarah.nowack@decorah.k12.ia.us by December 5th. Essays for 5th graders must be 300 to 600 words long, and 600 to 1,000 words long for 6th through 8th graders. A bibliography is required.
