Neste Valley Recreational Area will get a two-lane county road

Winneshiek County Supervisors have given their blessing to a proposal to build a two-lane road to serve the county's newest park just south of Decorah off Town Line Road.

County officials estimate the road would cost around $90,000.  However, Winneshiek County Conservation has received a $125,000 Land & Water Conservation program grant from the federal government which could be used to help pay for the road.

The proposed road would include a turnaround and would replace the current dirt road into the park, which county officials have called inadequate.
