Special school board meeting Monday to discuss superintendent hiring consulting firm

Decorah School Board members will meet at 6:00 p.m. Monday to discuss and possibly take action on hiring a consulting firm to help with the search for a new superintendent.
School board members have interviewed three firms for the job—McPherson and Jacobson, LLC of Omaha, Nebraska; Ray and Associates of Cedar Rapids; and Grundmeyer Leader Services of Des Moines. The firms have submitted bids ranging from $7,000 to $13,263 for their services.
Current Superintendent Mike Halsuka has announced his plans to retire at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.
