Elida Rowley serves up smoothies and juices with fresh local ingredients for her customers

Decorah has a new shop serving smoothies and juices. Elida Rowley is the owner of Driftless Smoothie and Juice Bar which is located in the alley between The Blue Heron Knittery and the Woolen Mill. Rowley owns the building that holds the Yoga Studio on Water Street and now the Juice Bar, which is below the yoga studio.

"I've always wanted to own a restaurant or juice bar. I've been to Spain and Paris and it is so nice to walk around and see little busy restaurants. I own this building, so it made sense to have it here," Rowley shared.

Three sandwich boards point out the location for newcomers to find her shop located just off Water Street.

The shop first opened during Nordic Fest.  Blue Nana was one of the most popular drinks then. Blue Nana contains blueberries, bananas, coconut milk, and dates. Rowley has found that customers like a variety of drinks that she prepares with mostly organic ingredients purchased from local farmers and the Co-op.

Rowley hopes to add items to her menu in the future such as smoothie bowls made with pureed frozen fruits and topped with fresh toppings like bananas, berries, and chia seeds.

The Driftless Smoothie and Juice Bar is located at 306 West Water Street off Court Street and is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
