City of Decorah announces leaf disposal guidelines

The City Yard Waste Disposal Site on Trout Run Road will now be open extended fall hours--weekdays from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until noon.

 

The City Street Department offices at 108 Railroad Avenue will have a 24-hour-a-day area designated for disposal of leaves.

Finally, from October 1st through November 15th, leaves may be deposited along the curb line of any street or alley as follows:

Wards 1 & 2: October 1st through October 5th and October 22nd through October 26th; Ward 3: October 8th through October 12th and October 29th through November 2nd; and Wards 4 & 5: October 15th through October 19th and November 5th through November 9th.

For safety reasons residents are encouraged to use the City Yard Waste Disposal Site on Trout Run Road or the designated area at 108 Railroad Avenue.
