Decorah School Board will hear from three superintendent search firms Wednesday night

Decorah School Board members will gather at 6:00 Wednesday night at the Central Administrative Offices to hear from three superintendent search firms.  The school board is looking to hire a consultant to find a successor to Superintendent Mike Haluska, who will be retiring at the end of this school year.

Three firms will give presentations Wednesday night:

--McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C.is based in Omaha.  It has been conducting national searches for boards of education since 1991. McPherson and Jacobson has placed over 500 superintendents and other officials in public and non-profit organizations across the United States.
   

--Ray & Associates, Inc. is based in Cedar Rapids.  The firm has been in the school executive search business since 1975 .  Ray & Associates says it works to find candidates who match the expectations of the school board and community.

--Grundmeyer Leader Services LLC is based in Des Moines.  The firm is headed by Dr. Trent Grundmeyer, who works for Drake University advising a superintendent program.

The school board will meet again next Monday for a review of the presentations by the three firms and a possible decision on which firm to hire.
