Register now for "Peace be the Journey" bike ride

Thursday is the early registration deadline for a bike ride to raise mental health awareness.

The Northeast Iowa chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will host the "Peace be the Journey" bicycle ride for mental health awareness on Saturday, October 6th at the Decorah Fish Hatchery.

Early registration for the ride, with a deadline of Thursday, is $25 for adults and $15 for teenagers. Riders 12 and under ride for free. Families can ride for $60. Riders can register online at www.namineiowa.org or can register by mail by sending a check to NAMI Northeast Iowa, PO Box 214, Decorah, IA 52101.  Early registrants will receive a t-shirt.

The purpose of the ride is to raise awareness and reduce stigma for mental health issues and raise funds for education, support and advocacy. All funds raised through the event will go directly to NAMI services in Winneshiek, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Howard counties.
