Ridgeway man fails to stop at Highway 52 construction zone, hits rear of stopped car

A Ridgeway man has been ticketed for Failure to Stop in an Assured Distance following a traffic accident shortly before 8:00 Friday night.

29-year-old Matthew Calahan began slowing for a work zone traffic light facing north on Highway 52, but was distracted by a cell phone and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Catherin Sargent of Fredericksburg.

The accident caused a total of $10,000 in damages.  No one was injured.
