The City of Decorah and the Decorah Telecommunications Utility Commission launched the Decorah Fiber Pledge Campaign on August 1st. The pledge asks residents and businesses to commit to switching their telecommunications services to the city network when it is built.
Decorah City Administrator Chad Bird says as of Thursday afternoon, 251 residential customers and 23 business customers have made a pledge to become city telecommunications utility customers. Bird says, "Our goal is to get a 40 percent 'take-rate' of the approximately 2,800 homes in the community."
The Decorah Fiber Pledge is still available online and can be accessed at www.ourbroadbandfuture.com/decorah
