The ATV Trout Run Trail Tour Convoy will be held Tuesday, August 21st. Tours are provided only to the elderly and those with physical limitations which have prevented them for accessing the beautiful Trout Run Trail.

Tours will depart from the Trout Hatchery at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. There will be a community picnic lunch held at the Trout Hatchery Pavilion from 11:30 a.m.--1:00 p.m.

Reservations are required and can be made starting at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15th.  Please call Francis and Marilyn Peterson at (563)382-4504 to make reservations. $20.00 donation per person, to The Decorah Rotary Club, on the day of the event is appreciated, but not required.

The Decorah Rotary Club organizes the Annual Trout Run Trail Tours.  Several implement dealers and local participants donate the vehicles used for the tours, including Decorah Kawasaki Suzuki Sports Center, Bodensteiner Implement Company, Drillings All Season Sports, Waukon Power Sports, John Noel, John Kerndt, Les Askelson, and Paul Nichols who have all donated vehicles in the past.

A caravan of sports utility vehicles makes a total of four laps around the trail throughout the day.  About 35 participants and the drivers of the vehicles participate on each lap.  Coffee and breakfast is provided before the 8:30 lap.  Lunch is offered from 11:00 a.m.--1:00 p.m. for the other participants.

Other contributors for the event include the following: Quillins in Decorah caters lunch for the event; Decorah Rental provides tables and chairs; Java Johns provides coffee; The City of Decorah & Decorah Park and Rec posts signs and volunteers during the event; 28-E Committee has graciously given us approval for the event; and The Decorah Chamber of Commerce provides signage.

"People who have taken the tour have been absolutely amazed by the beauty of the Trout Run Trail.  Many land donors were able to see the completed trail for the first time during the Rotary Trail Tours and were incredibly grateful to see the result of their generous donations. It's an honor and a privilege to help elderly and those who have physical limitations fully experience the sheer beauty of Northeast Iowa and the amazing trail system our community has worked so hard to build. A HUGE Thank you to all of the community organizations and Rotarians who make this possible," shared Trail Tour Planning committee member Jennifer Gipp.

Rain date is Tuesday, September 25th.
