One municipal electric utility in Iowa is struggling

During the recent referendum on whether Decorah should study the issue of establishing a municipal electric utility, representatives of several existing municipal electric utilities visited Decorah to describe the success their communities have had.

Not all examples are the same, however.  Sumner is now going through a controversy involving rate increases and higher expenses for its municipal utility, as KWWL News is reporting:
