The search for a new Luther College President is making good progress.
The search process, led by Luther Board of Regents vice chair Bob Paulson, has proceeded on track throughout this summer, according to Board of Regents chair Wendy Davidson. Says Davidson, "Significant work completed includes a robust assessment of the external environment, input from stakeholder groups, interviews with potential search consultants, and development of the search committee structure."
The Board of Regents' executive committee will be meeting with Current Luther President Paula Carlson and members of the cabinet in a week or two. The group will review the final search details.
Those details will first be communicated to professors, students, staff and other members of the Luther community, then formally announced at the State of the College address and service of dedication on August 23rd.
Once the consulting firm is hired, the formal search process will begin this fall. It's the goal of the Regents to select the new president by the end of the 2018-19 academic year, have that person visit the campus over the summer and start working at the beginning of the 2019-20 academic year.
