The Decorah Police Department reports responding to a car versus bicycle accident at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Decorah.

26-year-old David Mendez of Decorah states he was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk of Montgomery Street. He saw a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Marilyn Meyer of Cresco stopped at the stop sign on Broadway Street. Mendez reports he was unsure of Meyer's intentions and entered into the cross walk to begin crossing Broadway Street on his bike. When Meyer began to turn right onto Montgomery Street, Mendez ran into the side of her vehicle causing $800 of damage to her 2007 Ford Escape. Meyer reports she did not see Mendez crossing the road. The cyclist reports some scrapes on his legs. No other injuries were reported.
