The Decorah City Council is expected to again take up the issue of limiting the idling time of all vehicles.
A revised proposed ordinance permits idling for a period not to exceed five minutes within any 60-minute period. The ordinance would not be enforced when the temperature was less than 32 degrees nor greater than 85 degrees.
A first reading of the revised ordinance is scheduled for Monday, August 6th, with a second reading August 20th and a third and final reading September 4th.
The ordinance calls for a warning for the first offense, with a $25 fine for the second or any subsequent violations.
