City of Decorah officials continue to look for ways to control the population of deer within the city limits.
The latest idea would be for the city to pay the cost of deer tags for hunters who wanted to hunt deer on city-owned property such as parks.
Members of the city's Public Safety Committee on Tuesday night were told Iowa DNR staffers don't recommend using aerial surveys as a way to figure out how large the deer population is. City officials continue to receive complaints about the damage deer have done within the city.
