Decorah driver ticketed following three-vehicle accident

A three-vehicle accident on Mechanic Street at Broadway on July 11th caused just under $4,000 in damages, according to information released by the Decorah Police Department Tuesday.

21-year-old Richard Stewart of Decorah was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.  Officers say Stewart was heading north on Mechanic Street and failed to stop for the red light at Broadway.  He struck the rear of a car driven by 83-year-old Marilyn Nordheim of Decorah, pushing her car into the back of an SUV driven by 64-year-old James Lynch of Decorah.

None of the three drivers was injured.
