Decorah Dog Park is getting a lot of use in its opening month

The new Decorah Dog Park is getting a lot of use.

Decorah Park Board member Shirley Vermance, who has acted as the board's liaison to the group working on the project, says "There are people in there every time I go there."

Vermace says while the opening of the dog park "has all gone smoothly," more improvements are still planned for the park.  The recent "Pulpit to Pulpit" 5k raised around $3,000 to help pay for those improvements.  The dog park also has received a grant from Rockwell Collins which will help pay for planting shade trees in the park this fall.
