City of Decorah's sustainability plan review includes creating an asset map

Posted: Tue, Jul 17, 2018 9:07 AM

The City of Decorah's current sustainability plan is being reviewed.

Luther College's Center for Sustainable Communities says the review is using the STAR Community Rating program, which establishes 50 categories, with various factors in each category. Both Black Hills Energy and Alliant Energy, for instance, have been contacted for information about their carbon footprints.

When the process is complete, an "asset map" will be created, showing where the City of Decorah is meeting its goals, and where it needs further work. Summer student worker for the Center for Sustainable Communities Martin Donovan is helping the City of Decorah with the asset mapping.
