Recreating Thursday night's events in Decorah and Freeport

Posted: Mon, Jul 16, 2018 7:49 PM

The criminal complaint filed against 17-year-old Jacob Seelinger for his alleged part in attacks on Thursday night in the Decorah area is based on incidents which took place at a house at 1775 Old Stage Road in Freeport--NOT on incidents at the Winneshiek County Fair.

While those events may lead to further criminal charges, the charge Seelinger made his initial court appearance on describes events after he allegedly left the Fair.  He and Dalton Adam went to the house of David Hanson and, according to the complaint, "Jacob Seelinger and Dalton Adam were assaulting David Hanson."

Calista Seelinger called 9-1-1 at 11:20 p.m. Thursday and said she "needed an ambulance right now" because of the situation at Hanson's house.

Earlier in the evening, Seelinger and Adam were at the Winneshiek County Fair, where they allegedly kicked out the passenger window in a car, injuring a 20-year-old woman inside.

KIMT Television interviewed the woman about the incident.  That video is available at: http://www.kimt.com/content/video/488156261.html
