City council approves spending $17,430 more on the Dug Road Trail

Work will be done on Dug Road Trail to get it ready for paving later this summer.

The Decorah City Council has approved spending $17,430 to prepare the trail for paving.  That will include grading the trail to get it ready for asphalt, grading the shoulder, removing some existing asphalt and adding more rip rap to the slope, to replace fill that washed out due to rains and some sliding.

City officials are still hoping the paving can occur some time in August.  They say the latest work is necessary in order to be ready for paving.
