Two Aase Haugen nurses earn wound care certification

Aase Haugen Senior Services staff members Alycia Burdick and Leah Bremer serve the needs of residents at Aase Haugen as full-time nurses, and now as certified wound nurses as well.

Their advanced skills focus on treatment options for healing acute and chronic wounds, including nutritional approaches, infection control and prevention, geriatric skin conditions, pressure ulcers, and prevention of hospitalization.

According to the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, more people are living with a chronic wound than with breast, colon, lung cancers and leukemia combined.
