Finkenauer: November election is a referendum on

Democratic Congressional candidate Abby Finkenauer told an audience in Decorah Sunday afternoon that she wants to prove the skeptics wrong who said Democrats couldn't win in Iowa anymore.

Finkenauer, who is running against incumbent Republican Rod Blum, told the Decorah audience she believes the 2018 election is about our country's values--"do we help people--or not?"

She said people who work hard ought to be able to have a good life and people who get sick shouldn't have to file bankruptcy.

Finkenauer said the public heard a lot about the word "hope" in 2008 and she wants to use that word again this year.  The 2018 election, she told the crowd, will determine our country's values.
