On-line survey is the next step in renewing Alliant Energy franchise

City of Decorah officials say the next step in drawing up a franchise agreement with Alliant Energy will be an on-line survey of Decorah residents' suggestions on the topic.
 
Utility Committee Chair Andy Carlson says he was pleased with the open forum held last Saturday at City Hall to gather input on the topic.  Around 30 people attended.  Now the on-line survey is seen as a different way to get citizen input about the franchise agreement with Alliant.
 
The franchise agreement expired last month, but Alliant Energy has said it is interested in renewing the agreement.
