May was a busy month for the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce's visitor center

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce says it handled a surge of tourist visitors in Decorah during the month of May.

Statistics released by the organization show:

• 667 total visitors in May 2018, compared to 270 in April 2018
• Guestbook signed by people from CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, MN, MO, MT, ND, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY, IA, IL, KS, MN, MO, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, PA, TN, & WI
• Top 3 requests are for trout maps, dining info, and directions to springs/parks
  

The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce provided information to the following groups who have requested visitor information: Iowa DNR, Iowa Law Enforcement, a bus tour group, a motorcycle group, Women's Corvette Club, Bettendorf Book Club, Stagecoach Tour group, DHS Class of 1963 Reunion, Methodist Church, small groups, family groups, and multiple individuals.
