Public comment period extended to July 3rd for proposed 4,980 head hog confinement operation near Mabel

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has made a preliminary determination to issue a three-year permit for a 4,980 hog confinement operation proposed by Waukon resident Brad Herman for a site on County Road 28 near Mabel in Fillmore County.  However, the MPCA has now extended the comment period for the permit to July 3rd.

The MPCA held an informational meeting Monday night on the proposed Catalpa, LLC hog facility.  Presentations explaining the proposed operation were followed by a time for questions from the public.
