Three Waterloo men sentenced in theft of supplies from Alliant Energy trucks in Ft. Atkinson

Three Waterloo men each have been given ten-year prison sentences for taking items from Alliant Energy trucks in Ft. Atkinson last December.

55-year-old Frank Miller of Waterloo pleaded guilty to first degree theft and second degree theft charges.  He was sentenced to a 10-year and a 5-year prison term.  Those sentences will be served concurrently, as will other sentences imposed in cases in Chickasaw and Allamakee counties.

42-year-old Kevin Lee Gates of Waterloo pleaded guilty to a first degree theft charge.  He will serve a 10-year prison term.

34-year-old Ryan Tovar of Waterloo pleaded guilty to a first degree theft charge and will serve a 10-year prison term.

The three were accused of taking electric wire, copper wire and tools from Alliant Energy trucks parked at Mihm Trucking in Fort Atkinson last December, as well as taking items belonging to River City Paving.  They have been ordered to jointly pay $13,375 in restitution.
