On Monday night the Decorah Community School Board briefly discussed their continued search for new bus facilities, but took no action and will be awaiting the information gleaned from further discussion between Superintendent Mike Haluska and City Manager Chad Bird. The City of Decorah has made overtures to the District regarding possible collaboration on the construction of facilities at the current Fox and Coon property.
Decorah Jobs has also offered to sell property at the Industrial Park for a bus garage.
Whatever direction is taken, it was clear that the issue of highway access would be critical – with specific comments about challenges at the intersection of Highways 9 and 52.
