Traffic accident causes $6,500 of damage

The Decorah Police Department reports two motorists were involved in a minor traffic accident Sunday around noon.

The police report states 63-year-old Jeffery Feickert of Postville was stopped at a red light on Highway 9 at the intersection of Short Street with 17-year-old Tanner Knutson of Decorah stopped behind him. Feickert reports when the light turned green, he began to move through the intersection when his vehicle was inadvertently struck from behind by Knutson.  The accident resulted in $6,500 of damage to the vehicles.
