Senior Citizens can sign up for taxi discount cards

Posted: Thu, Jun 7, 2018 8:32 AM

EARL Public Transit, a program of Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation, is encouraging Decorah residents who are 60 years old and older to sign up for reduced price ID cards for Hometown Taxi Service.  The cards entitle senior citizens to $1.25 off on cab rides anywhere within the Decorah city limits and Freeport.

Sign-up is at EARL Public Transit's dispatch office at 305 Montgomery St. in the lower level of the Smith Building. You may also sign up for the senior discount card in any Hometown Taxi. Individuals may sign up for only themselves.

New identification cards are needed as the present yellow cards will expire June 30th.  The new orange cards will go into effect July 1st  and are good for one year.  There is no charge for the ID card.

This project is subsidized by the City of Decorah and State Transit Assistance and is administered by EARL Public Transit, a program of Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation.  For further information, call the transit office at 563-382-4259.
