Decorah Police are investigating a hit and run claim

On Thursday afternoon, the Decorah Police Department was called to investigate an accident in the Walmart parking lot.

The police report states the owner of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox was parked and unoccupied in the Walmart parking lot between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The vehicle owner states her car was struck while parked in the lot, causing $2,700 of damages to the rear corner of the passenger side. According to the police report, the crash was not located on surveillance video footage, so it is possible the damage occurred while the vehicle was parked elsewhere.
