Letter to the Editor: "We support John Norris for Governor"

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Leslie Sand of Decorah on behalf of herself and her husband, Kevin Sand):

"We are supporting John Norris for Iowa Governor.

We met him first at the church he attends regularly in Des Moines and liked him then. We became supporters when we heard him speak a few weeks ago at Good Shepherd Church in Decorah. He has a breadth of experience that no other candidate can claim.  We heard firsthand the ways he will bring millions of dollars back to Iowa to help our schools, health care, rural Iowa and economy.

He is a fifth-generation Iowan and grew up on a western Iowa farm near Red Oak. He attended Simpson College and University of Iowa Law School. Early in his adult life was a small business owner. He has had experience in governmental areas of agriculture, and clean and renewable energy. He has been an appointee several times under Tom Vilsack and Barack Obama, on national and international stages. He and his wife Jackie, a former public school teacher and now CEO of Goodwill of Central Iowa, are raising three sons.
