Letter to the Editor: Support Thomas Heckroth in the Democratic primary for Congress

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Karen McLean of Decorah):

"In the June 5th primary, I am supporting Thomas Heckroth for the Democratic nomination in Iowa's First Congressional District.  I believe he has the experience we need to actually get something done in Washington.

When I first met Thomas I walked away with a firm belief that he is running for Congress for all of the right reasons.  He understands the challenges we're facing as a country right now and that is why he decided to run.  His focus is working for all of us…being our representative!

Thomas' approach is a refreshing change from our current Congressman, who has demonstrated time-and-time again that he does not want to really be a representative of the people.  Democrats cannot afford to nominate someone who will follow Rod Blum's lead and refuse to meet with people who might ask him or her a "challenging" question.   Thomas will be there!  Thomas will listen!  I have seen Thomas do this throughout his campaign. Thomas will represent us the way we want to be represented!
