Three City of Decorah departments pass inspections with flying colors

The City of Decorah's Water Department, Fire Department and Wastewater Treatment Plant have all completed state inspections in the last week or so.

The inspections resulted in improved ratings for the Water Department and Fire Department.  City officials say that's not just important for the staffs at those departments, it's potentially important for city residents.

For instance, the Decorah Water Department has completed a project to install 40 new hydrants around town.  That will improve fire coverage to city residents--and could lead to lower insurance premiums.
