Decorah native Rob Sand is riding high in his race for statewide office

Democratic Party candidate for State Auditor Rob Sand was among the candidates appearing at Sunday afternoon's fundraiser for the Winneshiek County Democratic Party.

Sand--a Decorah native--has just been profiled in the New York Times Magazine for his work while at the Iowa Attorney General's Office in bringing a conviction of an Iowa Lottery employee accused of rigging the lottery to get a winning ticket.  (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/05/03/magazine/money-issue-iowa-lottery-fraud-mystery.html)

But in his appearance in Decorah Sunday afternoon, Sand was talking politics, asking fellow Democrats to make sure they campaign for the party's nominees this fall.  "It's about all of us as a state," he told the crowd, urging them to work hard for the ideals they believe in.
