Luther sophomore Joshua Burniece of Burnsville, Minnesota, has won the $1,250 Rosholt Distinction in Collaborative Keyboard Performance Scholarship.
A sophomore music major with a concentration in piano performance, Burniece performed a piano recital for judges which featured music by Strauss, Handel and Shostakovich.
The scholarship was established and endowed by Robert Rosholt in honor of his wife, Lucille, who has taught piano, voice and music education at Luther. The Rosholts live in Decorah.
